HCC Educational Foundation Raises Over $465,000
Over the last quarter, the Howard Community College Educational Foundation (HCCEF) raised over $465,000, providing students with scholarships and program support.
Bob and Sandy Hogue pledged $135,000 to benefit Howard Community College (HCC) engineering students through the Bob and Sandy Hogue Engineering Endowment and the Engineering Projects Night program. Each fall and spring, engineering students come together to showcase their projects at Engineering Projects Night. Additionally, the Hogue’s named the Learning Center in HCC’s newest building, The Kahlert Foundation Complex (currently under construction). The new facility is estimated to be completed in 2025. Guests can tour The Kahlert Foundation Complex on the third Thursday of every other month. To schedule a tour, contact foundation@howardcc.edu.
The PepsiCo Foundation launched a $40 million community college program to support Black and Hispanic students. The HCCEF was the recipient of $100,000 to create the Pepsi Foundation Uplift Scholarship and lead students to careers in science, engineering, technology, information technology, culinary, and hospitality studies. The PepsiCo Foundation recognizes the need for systemic change to address barriers that make it difficult for low-income students of color to pursue higher education.
