HCC President Daria J. Willis has announced the launch of a women’s flag football program for the college. The program will begin with support from the National Junior College Athletic Association Foundation awarding a $10,000 grant to start the team. “Our intramural flag football league has been a big hit this past year and we are happy to offer the chance for current students to play competitively against other institutions," says HCC athletic director Mike Smelkinson. Howard Community College is honored to welcome Lieutenant Governor Aruna Miller to deliver the keynote address at our upcoming commencement exercises. HCC President Daria J. Willis says, “Her example as a lawmaker and iconic figure in women’s history will empower our graduates to build their own confidence in the bright futures that lie ahead for them all.” The ceremony will be held on May 24 at the Chesapeake Employers Insurance Arena on the UMBC campus starting at 10 a.m. Read More!
