It is never too late to earn your Maryland high school diploma, and Howard Community College can help get you there with courses, practice tests, and the administration of the test. While each student's path is unique, HCC is committed to working with you to reach your goal.
Through the division of Workforce, Career & Community Education (WCCE), Howard Community College offers a variety of courses to improve your math, reading, and writing skills to prepare for taking the GED exam.
Test takers are required to prove Maryland residency and must provide official, current identification at the test center. Acceptable forms of identification in Maryland are:
- A current official Maryland driver's license or current official Maryland learner’s permit issued by the Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration (MVA),
- A current official Maryland identification card issued by the Maryland MVA, or
- A current active duty military dependent’s ID card. (This is not accepted for Online Testing.)
- A valid Passport and a second document such as a recent utility bill, phone bill, bank statement, cable bill, or lease agreement.
Out of state licenses or identification, expired identification or documents or photocopies of identification will not be accepted. There are no waivers of the identification requirement. Testers will be turned away from test centers without acceptable documentation.
