Placement Testing
Effective September 1, 2026, the Test Center will no longer offer remote placement testing. Appointments are required for all tests and should be made on RegisterBlast (www.registerblast.com/howardcc) prior to arrival.
After admission to HCC, all students are required to take both English and Math placement tests, unless otherwise exempted (listed below).
These results should not be viewed as pass or fail; they are utilized to ensure that students are placed into courses where they will be most successful.
Students are allotted two attempts for English and for Math, and scores are valid for two (2) years.
Placement testing is offered year-round.
MULTIPLE MEASURES
Incoming students may be exempted from taking a placement exam through the various measures below. Check the New Student Enrollment Checklist for steps on how to submit your scores or transcript. For more details, contact your Admissions Coach or Advisor.
