Math
Remote placement testing policies have changed effective May 1, 2024. Please refer to the remote testing instructions below to review the changes.
ALEKS PPL is an online, adaptive system that covers a broad spectrum of mathematics topics designed to identify your current course level. The length of the placement assessment will vary but can be up to 25 questions, with a 3.5 hour (210 minute) time limit. After completing the initial placement assessment, you will have the opportunity to review and master additional topics to reassess and improve your placement with a customized learning module.
All students must have their HCC email and password to test. If you need assistance, please use password services.
On-campus testing is available Monday through Friday.
If you are testing on-campus, please visit RegisterBlast to schedule your appointment.
If you are testing remotely, you do not need to make an appointment. Please refer to the instructions below.
Remember that this is a placement test and not something you pass or fail. Using outside aid might result in enrollment in a class that is too difficult or not sufficiently challenging, potentially costing you time and money.
